In 2009 Dr. Young completed 36 hours of advanced study in Chiropractic Pediatrics from Palmer College of Chiropractic. This training focused on pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, birth, neonatal, infant, toddler, preschool, school age and adolescence chiropractic considerations.
Some common things parents bring their babies to a chiropractor for are poor posture, ear infections, headaches, neck, back and leg pain. These conditions are seen as symptoms such as colic, fussiness, nursing on only one side and the hair on the back of the head being worn off irregularly. All of these indicate specific problems your child may be having that Dr. Young is trained to evaluate and care for.
Dr. Young's son is a chiropractic patient. From the beginning he had a difficult time finding a position that was comfortable enough to eat and sleep. This lead to the entire family being fussy and no one getting much sleep. After adjusting him, he was able to relax and like most babies after an adjustment took a big nap!
Adjusting a child is much different than the adjustments adults receive. There is much less pressure required and often the children are in different positions than adults when they receive their adjustments. For example babies are often nursing, sleeping or in the parents lap during the exam and treatment. E-mail Dr. Young your questions and make an appointment to experience the difference chiropractic can make in your child's health.
