pregnancy care
Here are some statistics we are committed to changing by working closely with other healthcare providers:
60% of women experience low back pain during pregnancy
Only about 1/3 of those women report it to their providers
Of the women that report low back pain only 25% of providers recommend treatment
Dr. Young works closely with Family Physicians, OBGYNs, and Midwives to help with pregnancy-related issues like back, hip and pubic symphysis pain. Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you should live with musculoskeletal pain. Our goal is to provide you with chiropractic care: the most safe and effective treatment for musculoskeletal pain during and after pregnancy, making you as comfortable as possible. Dr. Young is also certified in the Webster Technique, a specialized way of analyzing the pelvis before performing an adjustment.
Many women also experience musculoskeletal pain. These are caused by the woman’s changing body preparing for birth. There are drastic changes in the woman’s posture, gait and even breathing. During pregnancy your biomechanical changes reduce the joint’s integrity and can lead to easy injury of ligaments. Water retention is another side effect of pregnancy that can cause swelling in areas like the carpal tunnel and cause tingling, numbness or even pain.
