postpartum care

Dr. Young has advanced education in postnatal chiropractic care including physical rehabilitation following birth. After the baby arrives, the two most common issues Dr. Young can help with are difficulty breastfeeding and healing from delivery. After pregnancy, your body is rebounding from over-stretched abdominal muscles and pelvic instability and post-partum rehab is often neglected. It would be difficult to think of a major surgery that we do not provide pre and post surgical rehabilitation for, except for cesarean sections. A major abdominal surgery is performed and parents go home to care for a newborn and not much thought is given to the functional post-cesarean recovery. Dr. Young is able to help postpartum by evaluating and managing these issues with therapeutic exercise, nutrition and manual therapy.
